FEATURED IMPACT NOW OPEN Fizz , a new all-day bar and restaurant concept, opened May 27 at 3310 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 115, Plano. Fizz oers coee service beginning at 7 a.m. before transitioning into a lounge with drinks and music in the evenings, according to a news release from the business. The eatery is equipped with two full- service bars: one that wraps around the 3,500-square-foot interior and a second on its 1,200-square-foot patio. “We’ve been working hard to make Fizz the most fun new lounge Plano has to oer,” owner Je Murtha said in a statement. “It’s the perfect mix of great food and drinks, exceptional service and lively atmosphere.” Located in the West Plano Village development, Fizz’s champagne list and ancient grains tossed with caramel- ized onion jam, chimichurri, baby spinach, roasted shishito peppers, broccolini, tomatoes, red onions and grilled lemon. The company has locations across Califor- nia and Texas. www.mendocinofarms.com RENOVATIONS 11 The Davis Library in Plano reopened May 15 after being closed since last December due to a $5.3 million renova- tion project. The reopening of the library, which is located at 7501 Independence Parkway, was marked with a celebration attended by library staff and city officials, including Mayor John Muns. The project doubled the size of the children’s area and added a new dedicated Children’s Program Room at the library, accord- ing to a city release. New study rooms, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces and outdoor landscaping improvements were also added as part of the renovations. The project was part of a bond measure approved by city voters in 2017. The same bond measure is also funding a renovation project at Harrington Library that began last year. 12 Walmart is spending millions of dol- lars this year to update and remodel nearly 50 stores throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth region, the retailer announced May 5. In north Plano, the Walmart Neighbor- hood Market store at 12A 3312 Preston Road and the Walmart Supercenter store at 12B 6000 Coit Road will undergo remodeling. Renovations to stores will make way for expanded shopping options “to help people save time and money,” ac- cording to a Walmart news release.
