Prosper plans for mixed- use, multifamily areas As Prosper prepares for its next phase of devel- opment, town officials are working to solidify their vision for how land along the Dallas North Tollway will develop over the next few years. Prosper Town Council discussed and adopted the standards at a Feb. 24 meeting. How we got here Town officials hired consultant Paris Rutherford to help draft and advise on the proposed stan- dards, which would reorganize Prosper’s tollway corridor into seven subdistricts with specific development goals. The tollway’s current zoning is a “patchwork of varying and inconsistent development controls,” while the proposed standards would help create a more cohesive vision to guide future projects, according to town documents. Mayor Pro Tem Amy Bartley said the new
Celina OKs $189M for infrastructure Celina officials plan to spend over $853 million on infrastructure projects over the next five years, starting with $189 million in 2026. Celina City Council’s five-year capital improvement program outlines spending in a number of areas: water/wastewater util- ities, roadways, public safety, information technology, parks, facilities and drainage. Council approved funding for 2026 at a March 10 meeting. Spending for 2027-30 is planned but has not been approved. What’s being done Utilities and roadwork are council’s top priorities based on the spending breakdown in the improvement plan. Council started the debt issuance process in March and will vote May 12.
