Site plan for warehouses OK’d

The applicant also received a variance on the city’s tree preser- vation ordinance, which requires a minimum of 60% of trees on the site be preserved. The approved variance allows the applicant to reduce that to 27.6% based in part on the poor condition of the trees, according to discussions. As part of the development, more than 900 new trees will be planted on the property, documents show.

SOUTHLAKE City Council unanimously approved a site plan for a warehouse and office building project to be named Mustang Business Court. The development would be constructed near Mustang Court and Ira E. Woods Avenue on 26.3 acres zoned industrial. Plans call for three warehouses totaling almost 331,000 square feet, documents show. The applicant, Jason Bengert with Brookfield Properties, presented the project at the Feb. 1 council meeting. Some residents expressed concern about potential traffic safety issues during public comment. City Attorney Allen Taylor advised that the city’s consulting engineer has reviewed the area’s traffic circulation system and believes it falls in an acceptable range for this kind of facility. Ken Baker, director of planning and development services, also said city staff is reviewing the traffic

GRAPEVINE On Feb. 1, City Council approved a $1.1 million expansion of the waterline under the city’s Grapevine Golf Course. A new 3,000-foot waterline will con- nect the course’s existing waterline with an existing water system in the Linkside Townhome subdivision.
