common goal. That is the philosophy behind everything that hap- pens at Bodies By DesignWorkout Room, a tness facility in Pugerville with a focus on small-group personal training. Master Trainer Ninette Winston rst opened Bod- ies By Design 21 years ago, moving between several locations in Pugerville before settling at a spot on Vision Drive 13 years ago. Winston still runs Bodies By Design, along with Sassani and Donovan Owens. Sassani and Owens grew up in Pugerville and played football together at Pugerville High School. Sassani said that experience helped shape the team-orientedmindset he brings to Bodies By Design. “When we stopped playing football, we realized that we didn’t have that team around us, so we wanted to create a team atmosphere here,” Sassani said. Prospective clients at Bodies By Design must rst interviewwith a trainer to determine whether they are a good t for the gym’s group-oriented

“It’s a very precise test that gives us a good under- standing of what that person’s need is instead of just saying, ‘Hey, everybody’s doing this, and you should be doing it, too,’” Sassani said. With a plan in place, clients can get to work in small-group training sessions, utilizing the workout room’s diverse array of equipment. In the past year, Bodies By Design expanded to add spaces for an orthopedic massage therapist and a physical therapist adjacent to the workout room. Owens said the addition moves Bodies By Design toward being more of a complete wellness center. Ultimately, Sassani said, Bodies By Design is an environment best suited for those who are serious about their goals. “Everyone that comes here is super serious about what they’re doing,” Sassani said. “If people don’t show up here, if we don’t see themwithin 48 hours, they’re getting a call … because accountability is a big thing they ask for when they come here, so we do keep them accountable.”
