More homes coming to FM1486

Multiple residential developments, some thousands of acres, are taking shape along FM 1486 in Montgomery County. The projects will also bring commercial and retail development. The largest of the developments is an unnamed 5,700-acre master-planned project by Airia Development Co., which will border FM 1486, FM 1774 and Hwy. 249, C ommunity Impact Newspaper previously reported. Audubon expanding in 2022 Construction will begin in 2022 on a new section of Audubon, a master- planned community taking shape at Hwy. 249 and FM 1488 in Magnolia. According to Audubon, the new section of homes will be located at the southwest corner of Hwy. 249 and FM 1488 and feature various price points and styles, including patio homes and varying lots sizes. The new section will be called Creekside South. Homebuilders in the new section will include Newmark Homes, Perry Homes and Sitterle Homes, according to Audubon. In Audubon Park, located just east of where Creekside South will be, Empire Communities began building in December. Drees Custom Homes and Perry Homes are also building in Audubon Park with home sales having begun in December, marking the second phase of Audubon, according to a Dec. 8 news release.

Additionally, Land Tejas has purchased land on FM 2920 in Hockley for a 646-acre development, called Cypress Green, that will bring approximately 2,300 homes, Com- munity Impact Newspaper previously reported. Model homes are expected to open in 2022 with home sales beginning as well, according to Land Tejas. The rm expects to welcome its rst homeowners in Cypress Green in late 2022.

The western Tomball and Hockley areas will continue to see residential and commercial growth as three devel- opments begin taking shape in 2022. Sitework is ongoing at the north- east corner of Cypress Rosehill Road and the Grand Parkway to add infrastructure for a future retail development, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported. The site will include retail space and about 300 multifamily units. Tenants are expected to be conrmed in the rst quarter of 2022 for the 55-acre property. A new 67-acre subdivision just north on Cypress Rosehill Road called Ellerden is also under development,
