Esquivel said Lovett Industrial is seeking construction bids for 900,000 square feet of space, and construction on infrastructure and buildings will start this year. David Meyers, director of leasing with NewQuest Properties, which is developing the Grand Parkway Town Center, said the development is fully engineered and “shovel ready” with construction likely beginning in 2023. He said NewQuest Properties is in negotiations with two major box stores to anchor the project as well as other retail and commercial businesses. “Several years ago we kind of pulled the plug when we lost our big grocer, but we’re back, engaged now, working on the project,” Meyers said.

As the Hwy. 249 and Grand Parkway direct connector project comes to a close this year, two developments at the intersection are taking shape. The Grand Parkway Town Center, a 65-acre commercial and retail development, is nishing up deals for the property. Also, a 240-acre Lovett Industrial project bringing distribu- tion and light industrial space will be under construction in 2022. Tomball City Manager David Esquivel said the projects are both in city limits and will benet the city. The Lovett Industrial project is expected to create 1,300 jobs, Com- munity Impact Newspaper previously reported. Esquivel said the city is working on setting up nancing tools, including a municipal utility district
