Lewisville ISD academic calendar includes Dec. 19 winter break start The Lewisville ISD board of trustees approved the district’s 2022-23 academic calendar, which includes 177 instructional days. The approval comes after meetings of a calendar committee and a community survey, according to the district. The committee outlined the options, and the community voted. The calendar approved was favored by 65% of the estimated 18,000 survey respondents.

According to the district, the goal with the contract is to increase the district’s rate, resolve pay gaps among campuses and retain control over hiring. Before the contract, vacancies were lled in with other teachers, paraprofessionals or administrators on campus.

LEWISVILLE ISD The district entered into a contract with ESS South Central to supply the district with substitute teachers for eight months. The contract will run through August, and it will require annual renewal. It is estimated to cost $6.1 million for a one-year contract, and funds for the services will come from the human resources department budget, according to the Dec. 13 board meet- ing agenda item. Sheila Smith, the district’s chief executive director of employee services, said during the meeting that the district will maintain control on the quality of sta brought into the classroom. “They want to roll out a system that meets our needs,” she said.
