2 Dallas North Tollway widening A three-year project to widen the Dallas North Tollway through Frisco started in August. The project will add a fourth lane to both northbound and south- bound traffic, beginning at US 380 and ending at the Sam Rayburn Tollway. The project will include improvements to the John Hickman exit ramp to Gaylord Parkway. Officials with the North Texas Tollway Authority also plan to demolish the existing bridge at Fields Parkway. A new overpass will be constructed in its place, along with a southbound entrance ramp and northbound exit ramp just north of Fields Parkway. The construction is expected to end in late 2025. Work will be primarily in the center median, and drivers “may see work taking place during peak hours,” according to an NTTA spokesperson Mi- chael Rey. The total cost for this project will be nearly $160 million and will be fully funded by reinvested funds from the NTTA, Rey said.
