Why are you running for election?

I am running because I care about the city of Conroe. I have been a resident for 54 years. It is important to maintain and battle for hometown core values, low taxes and low water rates. Why are you running for election?

I love my community and the people in it.

I’ve lived a life of service to our country and our community. Conroe is an excellent place to live, work and raise a family. As your next councilman, I will improve transparency and accountability at City Hall and serve our citizens with integrity and honor. We must preserve our trees and lower water rates while providing a high quality of life.

My husband and I moved to downtown Conroe in 2017. ... I see the future of Conroe to be much like our experience restor- ing our home. ... The citizens of Conroe deserve nothing less than the same type of leadership, ... preserving the heritage and legacy of Conroe while thoughtfully stew- arding the way forward of growth, progress and prosperity.

What will be your top three priorities if elected?

What will be your top three priorities if elected?

1. To give a voice to all citizens of Conroe, including the annexed and underrepre- sented neighborhoods. 2. To streamline the permit process and create a business- friendly environment to help bring high-end jobs and businesses. 3. To make Conroe one of the best cities to live in, and ensure safety of the citizens through strong support of our ... law enforcement and rst responders.

1. Transparency at City Hall. ... I pledge open and transparent city business. 2. Respon- sible economic growth and development while we protect our trees and lower ... water rates. I will not raise taxes. 3. Control and strategize spending. We need to oer competitive pay for our [law enforcement ocers] and rst responders while plan- ning for ... growth and trac.

1. I believe we must continue our battle to keep water rates low. 2. I believe we must care for the taxpayers’ dollars by planning for economic development and growth with scal responsibility. I want to protect our hometown core values and environment especially pertaining to our trees. 3. I believe we must take a proactive approach by en- couraging investment in Conroe businesses.

1. Strengthen public safety; 2. Lower property taxes and water rates; 3. Preserve Conroe’s heritage and make Conroe a tourism destination

How would you involve stakeholders in decisions?

What are two challenges that growth presents the city?

Listening is key when it comes to involving individuals and businesspeople in the deci- sions of City Council. I am known as a council member readily available to the people ... throughout the community. Being involved with many dierent organizations and events gives me a wide variety of valuable perspectives.

I need our citizens’ input and communica- tion to determine how we must plan for development and address concerns they may have. I will always answer emails and return calls. My plans are to encourage and mentor new leaders to step up and serve our community. We need good people to ensure our city continues to prosper.

By far the two biggest challenges are infra- structure and trac. Only with anticipation of growth, scal responsibility and economic planning can this be accomplished. Experi- ence and knowledge matters; all decisions made today aect the future of Conroe.

One of the biggest challenges Conroe faces ... is coordinating all of the departments and entities within the city, managing and leading eorts in the same direction. When a city the size of Conroe experiences rapid growth, a secondary challenge is to make strategic decisions and prioritize needs rather than being reactive.
