1 Research Forest Drive at Gosling Road turn lane extension Project: The project will extend dual left-turn lanes from westbound Research Forest Drive to southbound Gosling Road. They will also be extended from southbound Gosling Road to eastbound Research Forest Drive. Update: Utility relocation was being planned in March, officials said. • Timeline: Construction will begin in late spring. • Cost: $25,500 (design) • Funding source: Montgomery County road bond 2 David Memorial Drive Phase 2 Project: A project to extend David Memorial Drive to Hwy. 242 began in September 2023 under the terms of an interlocal agreement between the city of Shenandoah and Montgomery County. Update: The final portion of the project in Conroe city limits will be funded by the 2025 Montgomery County road bond. According to an April update from Precinct 4, design of the project is complete. • Timeline: TBD • Cost: TBD • Funding sources: Montgomery County road bond, Precinct 4 Commissioner’s Office, city of Shenandoah 3 Rayford Road and Discovery Creek Boulevard traffic signal Project: A traffic signal will be replaced at the intersection and will add left-turn lanes in both directions on Rayford Road. Update: The project design is underway, as of information available in April. • Timeline: Construction is slated to begin mid-summer. • Cost: $664,038 • Funding source: Montgomery County road bond 4 Grogan’s Mill Road at North Millbend Drive intersection upgrade Project: The project will redesign traffic signal and intersection layout, replace pavement and restripe the intersection, Precinct 3 officials said. Update: The project was in the engineering design phase early this year.
