Karen Waldrup@ Dosey Doe-The Big Barn
What is your ultimate goal as a musician? Playing music for people is my goal. I try to not get overwhelmed with the pressure of being important. I just try to focus on the one thing that I know that God created me to do, which is play music for people. ... I want to heal people’s hearts through music. And I also want to be able to give back to the community. • April 25: Karen Waldrup, 8:30 p.m. • 25911 I-45, Spring • www.doseydoetickets.com
Country singer and songwriter Karen Waldrup combines classic and modern country music with performances in over 15 countries. How did you start creating music? It really started from just actually loving music … and church was a huge, huge thing for me, because it was just so stress free. What genre of music do you perform? I call it country soul. So it’s like country music, but with me being from South Louisiana, it definitely has that extra flair of soulful music.
