Officials develop initial vision for Project Nexus Project Nexus—a proposed mixed-use develop- ment in Pflugerville—has a new timeline as officials with the city of Pflugerville and the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation have begun developing a vision for the 53-acre site. Overview In 2025, Pflugerville City Council approved an $18.2 million bond issuance to provide PCDC with the funds to purchase 53 acres located west of Lake Pflugerville. The city and PCDC have since brought on real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle to help develop goals and objectives for the project, which were presented to City Council in early April. Through work sessions with PCDC, the city and JLL, officials identified three aspirations for the project, including: • Fostering an authentic identity
Improved Fritz Park to open this May The city of Hutto plans to reopen Fritz Park this May after a renovation project wraps up. The overview The upgrades include an expanded splash pad, playground equipment, an all-wheels track, walking trails and more parking. The project cost around $11 million, stemming from a 2018 voter-approved parks bond.

A final version of the development strategy is expected to be delivered to PCDC in November. The firm plans to begin soliciting developers in 2027.
