Pugs on the patio Cottonwood Creek Brewery will host an event dedicated to pug breeds. Along with the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs, a portion of beer purchases will benefit Pug Rescue of Austin.
11th annual Maker Pfest The Pflugerville Public Library will host its annual event dedicated to local makers and artisans, who provide demonstrations and offer hands-on learning activities. Staff will demonstrate how to use the library’s laser cutter and 3D printer, while guests can try activities such as screen printing, bookbinding and other crafts. • June 6, 2-5 p.m. • Free

Catfish Derby The Hutto Parks and Recreation Department will host a fishing derby at Adam Orgain Park. The pond will be stocked with 2,000 catfish, giving fishers of all ages a chance to test their angling skills. Pflugerville Library Blood Drive We Are Blood will bring its bus to the library, giving locals a chance to donate blood and support the community. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Donors should eat a full meal beforehand and bring their photo IDs with them. • May 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. • Free Splash Saturday DogJoy hosts weekly pool parties for dogs on Saturdays. The pool is designed with dogs in mind, featuring a beach entry, splash pad, island and gradual change in depth for dogs of all sizes. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, and owners are welcome to bring toys and treats.
