2022-23 PCC Guide

The mission of PfISD P-TECH Academies is to empower students to complete post-secondaryand industry- based credentials through an academic and work-based educational experience that leads to success in high- demand fields, in partnership with institutes of higher learning andindustry professionals. Connally High School’s P-TECH program is the Computer InformationTechnology Academy and students at Weiss can enroll in the Pfuture Teachers Academy. PfISD ranks amongthe top districts in the Austin area academically and has a graduation rate of 97%, well above the state average of 90.3%. The District strives to educate the whole child and provide experiences that will prepare themfor the real world and enrich them socially because social-

emotional learning is just as important as an academic focus. Fine arts programs allow students to express themselves through music, acting, or painting, and extracurriculars like Speech & Debate help students find their voice. The District has seen great success in this area with Hendrickson and Pflugerville high school students representing PfISD at the 2022 National Speech and Debate Association tournament. It all ties back to PfISD’s motto of passionate service.

It may include campuses signing up to be Unified Champion Schools through the Special Olympics organization. Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® builds on Special Olympics’ values, principles, practices, experiences and impacts to shape a generation that welcomes everyone. Or PfISD hosting its first ever Parent and Pfamily Engagement Conference to empower parents and families to actively engage in their child’s education through targeted informational sessions and workshops. As always, Pflugerville ISD will continue to passionately serve in the best interests of all students.
