FROMDENISE: As the August issue signals our return to school, we are taking a deeper look into how it will play out. Leander ISD has the authority to continue 100% virtual instruction for all students up to four additional weeks, which could delay in-person and hybrid instruction to Oct. 5, according to district ocials. Take a look at the options (see Pages 22-23) to nd out more on children returning to school. We are striving to do our best in reporting the most up-to-date information on this matter, and we hope you continue to rely on Community Impact Newspaper to keep you informed. News from Leander ISD

FROMBRIAN: My late father had a joke about pets that goes something like this: “A dog looks at its human and thinks: ‘You feed me; you house me; you love me. You must be God!’ A cat looks at its human and thinks: ‘You feed me; you house me; you love me. I must be God!’” Dog vs. cat feuds aside, this month’s special section on pets features services throughout our area, popular breeds, a shelters update and the potential behavioral health benets pets have on children.
