FEATURED IMPACT NOW OPEN Scooter’s Co ee opened its second location in McKinney on May 20 at 8650 W. University Drive. The co ee shop is located at the northwest corner of Walnut Grove and US 380. The 664-square-foot co ee shop o ers co ee in the drive-thru only. It does not have seating options like the other McKinney location on Virginia Parkway. “Scooters is relatively new to Dallas, and we have always thought about putting a location in that area,” DFW Regional Manager Haleigh Weimer said. “We want people that travel US 380 to have the most options for co ee.” Scooter’s specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and its
signature drink the Caramelicious, according to the company’s website. The Caramelicious is an espresso drink topped with caramel sauce and whipped cream that can be served hot or iced. “It’s been great to see some of our regular customers from the Virginia [Parkway] store that have been anticipating this opening stop by at the

The Brass Tap McKinney will be located at 4030 W. University Drive and the owners expect to gain possession of the building in April 2023. The craft beer bar is expected to open for the summer in June 2023, according to Patel.
8 Michael Johnson Performance , an athletic training facility located at 6051 Alma Road, has closed. The company ceased all its operations on March 18, according to a voicemail recording on the facility’s answering machine. Michael Johnson Performance held sports training programs and camps for young athletes in addition to training college, predraft and professional players.
