1 Austin Parkway reconstruction Phase 2 Project: The second phase of the reconstruction project aims to improve pavement quality and drainage improvements on Austin Parkway between Sweetwater and Commonwealth boulevards. Update: Sugar Land City Council is set to review the design contract with Bowman Consulting Group at a June 2 meeting after press time. • Timeline: June 2026-February 2027 (design) • Cost: $536,656 (design) • Funding source: Fort Bend County
2 Sugar Land Trail Phase 2 Project: The 10-foot-wide concrete trail aims to support safer travel along Lexington Boulevard from Oxbow Drive to Hwy. 6 as well as along Austin Parkway between Lexington and Commonwealth boulevards. Update: At a May 5 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a design contract with Consor North America Inc. for the Sugar Land Trail Phase 2. • Timeline: June 2026-June 2027 (design) • Cost: $791,576 (design) • Funding source: Fort Bend County
3 Missouri City street reconstruction Project: In April 2025, Missouri City City Council approved a contract with Aranda Brothers Construction for the reconstruction of seven failing streets located west of McLain Boulevard. Streets include West Hampton Circle, West Hutchinson Circle, Palmway Street, Oceanview Street, Poolview Street, Parkview Street and Flagler Street. Update: The project is still under construction. • Timeline: July 2025-Summer 2026 • Cost: $3.05 million • Funding source: November 2021 bond
