MAGNOLIA While the Tomball ISD board of trustees approved the calen- dar for the upcoming 2019-20 school year last February—adopting two years of academic calendars at once— the Magnolia ISD board of trustees approved the 2019-20 calendar at its Jan. 14 meeting, just a week into the spring semester. Classes will begin Aug. 14 and Aug. 20 this year for students in Magnolia and Tomball ISDs, respectively, according to the districts. Both districts are districts of inno- vation, a designation created by the Texas Legislature in 2015 that allows
