FEATURED IMPACT RELOCATIONS Brandon Tomes Subaru will relocate to an expanded McKinney dealership by early 2024, General Manager Brandon Tomes said. The automotive dealership, located at 1100 S. Central Expressway, is set to relocate to a $21 million, state-of-the-art facility that is expected to break ground this spring, Tomes said. The new facility, located 4 miles south at 3600 S. Central Expressway, will be on about 10 acres of land with a roughly 60,000-square-foot building, almost four times larger than the dealership’s existing location. The new dealership will include over 25 service bays and 30 sales oces, Tomes said. The larger building will also allow for “increased service capacity” for customers of the dealership, Tomes said. The relocation project was delayed due to the pandemic, but it is meant to is being developed by North Caroli- na-based Hendrick Automotive Group, according to its website. The vehicle retail group also operates Honda Cars of McKinney and Hendrick Volkswagen Frisco, according to its website. At their Dec. 13 meeting, McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission members received a presentation about the planned dealer- ship from Bob Roeder, a representative of the applicant.
