RENOVATIONS 8 Approximately $1.4 million in reno- vations are planned for later this year at the Walmart Supercenter at 1700 Dallas Parkway, Plano. A listing on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website states the project is a general remodel to the existing store. Work is slated to begin before the end of May and conclude in September, according to the TDLR. Walmart carries a wide range of groceries, home goods, clothing, sports equipment, automotive accessories and more. 972-931-9846. www.walmart.com 9 Sleep Experts at 2000 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 200, Plano, is temporarily closed for construction and renovations. Officials with Harrison Construction said the store should reopen sometime around mid-March. Sleep Experts has dozens of stores across Dallas and Austin. The store located at 2200 Dallas Parkway is preparing for an interior renovation project. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website, restrooms, fitting rooms, sales counters, the sales floor and more will be renovated. NOWOPEN 1 Pizza and pasta restaurant Tossed and Sauced opened in December at 1212 14th St., Plano, where it shares space with fellow Local Favorite Restaurants concept Twisted Root Burger Co. The restaurants are located in the former location of Hub Streat. Tossed and Sauced’s menu includes wood-fired pizzas such as jalapeno chicken Alfredo as well as candied bacon, sausage and egg. The restaurant also offers a selection of pastas and salads. In addition to the eateries, Local Favorite plans to host live music as well as different types of outside games and events at the space, Chief Restaurant Operator Steve Cham- bers said. “Our end goal is to have an environment where everybody can come, whether it’s the family, whether it’s a date night [or] whether it’s a guys night out,” he said. “Our goal [is] to have a one-stop shop for the community to come and relax and enjoy.” Twisted Root opened in the space Nov. 22. 469-229-7949. www.tossedandsauced.com 2 Zodiac Time Coffee & Wine opened Dec. 6 in The Shops at Willow Bend. The hot pot and sushi restaurant is located at 2001 Coit Road, Ste. 170, and opened in early November. The eatery serves lunch and dinner each day but is closed on Tuesdays. The menu features a variety of hot pot meals, a type of soup-food with origins in China. The store features classic and specialty pizzas as well as sub sandwiches and pizza bowls. The brand is known for its fresh dough, which is made in-store daily; cheese, which is never frozen; and secret pizza sauce recipe. Popular menu items include the All Meat, Pepperoni Magnifico and White Cheezy pizzas. This will be the second Plano loca-

tion for the chain. The restaurant serves chicken tenders of varying degrees of spiciness, fried chicken sliders, crinkle-cut fries and more. According to its website, the company began as a food cart in East Hollywood. The Dave’s Hot Chicken in north Plano opened in October. The new location will be next to Starbucks in the Preston Shepard Place shopping center. A phone number is not yet available. 6 Wild Mirchi Indian Grill reached its fifth anniversary Dec. 11 at 2929 Custer Road, Ste. 315, Plano. The Indian grill serves a variety of region- al and traditional dishes native to India, including paneer tikka masala and malai kofta.
