FROMDENISE: My husband and I bought a new home this year. When it comes to the backyard, it is like having a blank canvas. Getting to start over with a new backyard is so refreshing. However, I lack the skill or creativity, and I have no idea what to plant. My goal is to keep everything alive for at least six months. I need all the help I can get, which is why I will be utilizing our home improvement guide (see Page 19). From planting shrubs to building a backyard playground, this guide can point you in the right direction. Denise Seiler, GENERALMANAGER

13 Breakdown of Leander ISD’s new budget
FROMBRIAN: In Leander, more apartments are currently under construction than the total number that were built in the previous ve-and-a-half years. Growing pains come with being the fastest growing large city in the U.S., but Leander continues to take steps to ensure that new multifamily development will be held to a higher standard. If planned appropriately, this could open the city to people not ready to buy a home, looking for a more urban lifestyle or simply wishing to downsize. Brian Perdue, EDITOR
