YOGA FOR BEGINNERS Shine Yoga specializes in four yoga classes. Thomas said while each has a similar di‚culty level, all classes and moves can be modiƒed for any mobility or skill level. Here are some beginner moves Thomas recommends for those interested in trying yoga.

Downward-facing dog: This transitional pose starts on one’s hands and knees before pushing upward, lifting up the knees, hips and legs.

“Yoga is one of those things that really changed my life,” Thomas said. “It is something I know I can and will do for the rest of my life.” Prior to opening Shine Yoga in 2016, Thomas owned and operated Journey Gymnastics in Georgetown for 15 years. She also co-owns Texas Academy of Gymnastics in Leander, which opened in August 2019.
