Local nonprots support aging residents, families AGE of Central Texas and Georgetown-based nonprot The Caring Place are partnering to pro- vide resource navigation and support services for low-income families with an aging family member and their caregivers through the end of the year. The full story Through this partnership, called AGEing in Georgetown, the nonprots will help families and caregivers of low-income aging residents navigate challenges they are facing, and connect them to vetted community services. Jayden Beatty, chief development and commu- nications ocer of AGE of Central Texas, said the partnership will allow for one-on-one consultations with sta from the Information & Resource Center. Beatty said the partnership will also help connect folks to the organization’s health equipment lending program, and provide free incontinence

WilCo hospital breaks ground on expansion Ascension Seton Williamson will soon be able to expand its capacity to care for the growing population of Williamson County. The Round Rock hospital broke ground on a $230 million expansion Sept. 26, which is anticipated to open in 2026. About the project A 216,000 square-foot, six-story tower is planned to be constructed as an expansion of the existing hospital. Once completed, the tower will have an additional 160 beds, bringing the total num- ber of beds to 341; two new operating rooms; and a new catheterization lab; among space for other growth. Previously, hospital ocials said the expansion would create hundreds of jobs for local health care workers.

supplies upon request. The latter, she said, can become a large expense and are typically not covered by Medicare. She encourages those in need of items to call ahead to make sure items are in stock. Supplies will be available for pickup at The Caring Place. What’s next? Beatty said the partnership is set to run through the end of the year, and could be extended if the program demonstrates that it is meeting area needs.

Dr. Jennifer Rogers Dr. Rogers is a graduate of Texas A&M Medical School and attended residency at UTMB Galveston. She specializes in treatment across all stages of life, including comprehensive obstetrics, in-office procedures, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
