Cody said the transition from dentistry to medical aesthetics was easy. “The face and head and neck, that’s a dentist’s specialty. That’s what we know,” Cody said. “For most of my career I was working inside the black box, and now I’m working outside the black box. It’s much better.”

Cody spent over 30 years in the dental industry, where platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, therapy is used to aid in bone grafting and dental implants. PRP, as Cody describes in her book titled “You Healing You,” is a procedure that uses injections of a patient’s own platelets and plasma. She said the procedure can be used for the repair of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. Cody gave her hairdresser a PRP shot in her hand to help with knotting and pain.
