Panther Creek project nears partial completion Construction on Panther Creek Parkway from Rollingwood Lane to Dallas Parkway is underway. The project includes widening the four-lane road to a six-lane road, according to Frisco’s capital improvement projects database. The details Phase one of the project will be completed by the end of the year and will cost $5.9 million. The Panther Creek Parkway to Dallas Parkway project is funded fully through the city, according to the Frisco’s capital improvement database. Construction along Panther Creek Parkway will not end at Dallas Parkway. The divided highway project will expand east from Dallas Parkway to Preston Road, but that portion is currently in the design phase. The Denton County Transportation Authority’s fiscal year 2023-24 operating and capital budget includes funding for seven new positions and about $35 million for capital improvements and maintenance. What you need to know The board of directors approved the bud- get during its Aug. 24 meeting. The budget took effect Oct. 1, projecting about $76.2 million in revenue and about $50.3 million in expenses. Budgeted expenses include more than $11.5 million for bus operations, according to a staff presentation. Another $17 million was budgeted for operating the A-Train service. Seven new positions have been budgeted for the upcoming fiscal year.

Universal Kids Frisco is slated to be built. Bids on the Dallas Parkway to Preston Road work will happen this year with construction estimated to be completed by the end of 2025. The construction along Panther Creek Parkway from Dallas Parkway to Preston Road is estimated to cost $85 million, according to the capital improvement website. It is estimated that $30 million of that funding will come from external sources while $55 million will be funded by the city, according to the city’s website.
