Medical City McKinney will see floors added, new operating rooms and other renovations as part of a $142 million expansion project, according to a Sept. 10 news release. Construction on the project is set to begin in 2025, with completion expected by 2028, the release stated. The 311-bed hospital will see over 105,000-square-feet of new space added, including two stories above the Medical City Women’s Hospital McKinney. The project will also add four new operating rooms, a new post-anesthesia care unit and additional space for day surgery, the release states. Expansion projects at the hospital are part of a $1.5 billion capital investment initiative by Medical City Healthcare, a news release states.
The hospital’s total bed count will increase by 46 as a result of the expansion. The project will also result in increased capacity in various units including medical-surgical, step-down and intensive care, the release stated.
