New Texas Children’s Hospital CEO named Texas Children’s Hospital announced the promotion of current President Debra Sukin to CEO over the hospital network in a Sept. 12 news release, replacing longtime CEO Mark Wallace. Sukin, who was previously CEO of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, will remain as acting president over Texas Children’s Hospital and assumed the full duties of CEO on Oct. 5. Sukin has also served as vice president over the Houston Methodist system and senior vice president of St. Luke’s Health System in the Texas Medical Center. In case you missed it Sukin was brought on as president over Texas Children’s Hospital in September 2023 and began working under Wallace to prepare as his successor. Wallace announced his retirement would be e ective Oct. 4 following 35 years as CEO.

Water plant expansion advances Oak Ridge North City Council members voted to create a new lease agreement with the South Montgomery County Municipal Utility District on Sept. 23 as part of a plan to expand the SMC water plant by 0.6 acres for two new water tanks. What you need to know Ocials said the district would like to begin construction on the project in 18 to 24 months.
