The project was completed Aug. 1 Timeline: July-August Cost: $120,000 Funding source: Precinct 3 UPCOMING PROJECTS 4 David Memorial Drive extension A project to extend David Memorial Drive to Hwy. 242 will begin under the terms of a new interlocal agreement between the city of Shenandoah and Montgomery County, Community Impact previously reported. Funding from the city of Conroe awaits the city’s approval, but engineer Bleyl said the project can begin with agreements from two of the funding entities in place. The estimated cost of the project was updated from $9.1 million to $7.8 million, with the construction bid coming in at about $7.4 million, Bleyl said. Timeline: September 2023-July 2024 Cost: $7.8 million Funding sources : city of Shenandoah, city Oak Ridge North on July 24 approved the company Quiddity to perform end-to-end construction management on a project to align Robinson Road across Hanna Road. Delays with Entergy’s relocation plans have set the project back to begin in the fall, according to city ocials. United Airlines unveils Terminal B redevelopment plan to enhance IAH United Airlines announced plans in early June to modernize and expand Terminal B at George Bush Interconti- nental Airport. Ocials said United Airlines would have a signicant eet expansion to improve eciency as part of the proj- ect. To accommodate larger mainline aircraft, ocials said Terminal B will need modications, and Terminal B North will need to be demolished and rebuilt. Ocials said the goal is to have one of the new concourses open by mid-2026.

ONGOING PROJECTS 1 Grogans Mill Road and Research Forest Drive turn lane construction Turn lane improvements at Research Forest Drive and Grogans Mill Road will extend the westbound acceleration lane from southbound Grogans Mill to westbound Research Forest as well as the westbound Research Forest lane to northbound Grogans Mill. Work on the eastbound lane was scheduled to begin after utility pole relocation is completed, according to engineer John Bleyl. The project is being managed by Montgomery County Precinct 2. FM 1488 median A TxDOT project to add a raised me- dian along FM 1488 east of Magnolia continues to see delays. The proj- ect was slated to begin in the rst quarter of 2023 but had not started construction as of a August update from TxDOT. Crews will construct a raised median along FM 1488 from Mostyn Drive in Magnolia to I-45. 2 Woodlands Parkway turn lane exten- sions at Kuykendahl Road Contractor Teamwork completed work Aug. 4 extending the left-turn lanes on westbound Woodlands Parkway headed onto southbound Kuykendahl Road, ac- cording to Montgomery County Precinct 3. A second project added a left-turn lane to southbound Kuykendahl Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway.
