Why are you the most qualified candidate for this position?

In my 34 years of working at the people’s constable’s office I know and understand the organization inside and out. More importantly, I know and understand how to effectively police and protect the hundreds of communities we serve throughout Precinct 4.

With over 27 years of law enforcement experience and working in a multitude of areas at the Sheriff’s Office, I have dedicated my career to engaging, bridging the gap between law enforcement and all communities and educating groups.

If elected, what will you do to ensure your officers and those they come in contact with are protected from COVID-19?

We will continue to listen to our health professionals on how to effectively utilize the personal protection equipment we have deployed to our personnel and citizens.

I will ensure the agency follow[s] the CDC and county officials’ guidelines and protocols. Isolate potential or exposed deputies [and] notify potential exposed citizens.

Harris County Precinct 5 needs a constable that understands the needs of the entire community and is ready to change the current status quo. Precinct 5 is the fastest growing and most diverse precinct in the county. Why are you the best candidate for Harris County Precinct 5 constable? Absolutely, I believe that criminal justice reform is necessary in Harris County. We need to change the current culture and bring back the meaning of public servants. Do you believe criminal justice reform is needed in Harris County?

I have the experience to continue doing this job as I am the only candidate with 36 years continuous Harris County law enforcement experience. I increased patrols in our neighborhoods ... and ran a successful department while reducing response times.

We must remain in a mode where we are constantly assessing our needs and what reforms are needed ... We must be willing to change and listen to all.
