Friendswood’s Christmas celebration Santa in the Park will feature a 40-foot Christmas tree—which officials said is the second largest in the nation. In addition to the tree, the event will feature: • Fireworks and a parade • Holiday market Friendswood to get 40-foot tree
Also of note
Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Corporation purchased the Christmas tree, City Manager Morad Kabiri said. The cost for the tree and installation is estimated to be over $152,000 for the first year and over $62,000 for installation each year for the next four years, according to city documents.
• Local performances • 40,000 lbs. of snow
“Huge thanks to city of Friendswood Parks and Recreation, and Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Corporation for the amazing decorations,” council member Sally Branson said in a social media post.
