What do you hope to accomplish in your term if elected?

What do you hope to accomplish in your term if elected?

I will address drainage, water supply, and missing sidewalks. I would like to use my nonprot experience to seek grants to update and implement our trail and park plan. This will keep property values strong, improve access to businesses, and improve quality of life.

To represent the community as best I can. To be a voice for the hundreds of old and new residents. ... I will continue to educate myself on each item coming to the city in order to make the best decisions possible for the future of Magnolia as well as the residents I represent. ... I will ght for no tax increases.

It is only a one-year term. That said, there are numerous pressing issues to be considered during the next year. ... Mobility and growth, and the impacts both will have on the city, its residents and its infrastructure need to be discussed and the impacts on those compo- nents planned.

I want change. I want to oer better and more responsive representation. I don’t see that option with the sitting council members, so I will work to be the change that this city needs. I’m seeking election to ensure that others who feel marginalized by the deci- sions of this council will have a voice.

*THE CANDIDATE ELECTED TO POSITION 5 WILL FULFILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM THROUGH 2023 OF LORI KLEIN QUINN, WHO STEPPED DOWN FROM COUNCIL TO RUN FOR MAYOR.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the city, and how would you address that?

We have large multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects on the horizon for Tomball. Tomball is nancially sound and has been managed scally conservative, so we have the ability to address these needs, but we will, no doubt, have competing interests and priorities to sort out. I intend to bring my experi- ence ... as we work collectively to make ... decisions.

Growth and development, or overdevelopment, are huge challenges. I would like to see a better balance of existing community needs and priorities with the welcoming of new development. Development should enhance our quality of life, not detract from it. ... Council needs to protect and retain the elements that attracted people to Tomball in the rst place.

Communication with residents and business is essential. ... We must solicit ideas and try to engage the community, but this is more dicult when people are content and things are going well. Social media has proven valuable in provid- ing ... needed feedback. We plan to better coordinate all our platforms. ... As the [FM] 2920 project progresses, we will have town hall meetings to solicit input. What would you do to involve residents in the city’s decision-making processes? Outgrowing our city services—water, sewage, and drainage. We need to drill a new water well and sewage facilities along with updating the drainage such as Boggs Creek. We need to improve certain roads in the city such as Persimmon. The clear-cutting of trees without a proper plan to save heritage trees. Replace trees with canopy variety of trees.

Tomball mayor

What do you hope to accomplish in your term?

Occupation: owner Fagan Insurance Agency; owner 403 EATS; mayor Relevant experience: current mayor of Tomball, business owner 281-330-7828 Facebook: Gretchen for Mayor GRETCHEN FAGAN Occupation: Retired CPA/CFP Relevant experience: eight years on City Council, 15 years on Grand Park- way board 281-351-5676 www.lorikleinquinnformayor.com LORI KLEIN QUINN

Continue the momentumwe have with redevelopment of Old Town, seeing the alleyways improved, with safe walk- able sidewalks. Grow our current festival/tourism activities. Complete the improvements to Jerry Matheson Park and ensure that hometown feel that makes Tomball special to us all. Ensure that the quality of life we have all come to know and love continues.

With community input, I hope to develop and revisit 5-year, 10-year and 15-year measurable plans. I hope to expand and preserve our museums, including holding a discussion on replicating our original City Hall as part of our historical Tomball Museum. I hope to investigate a “legacy tree” ordinance. ... Instead of cutting down legacy trees, let’s relocate them to our local parks.

We need to invigorate community involvement in spe- cial-purpose committees. I hope to organize an annual town hall meeting to listen to and discuss the needs of our citizens. We should also establish a Main Street citizen group as well as revisit the downtown committee. ... We also need to revise our boards and commissions and estab- lish term limits to help develop the next generation.
