What will be your priorities on the board if elected?

What do you see as the biggest challenges facing the city, and how would you address them?

There needs to be more transparency. From the way the budget is presented to the pub- lic to the way board business is disseminat- ed, there is much more that could be done to be forthcoming. Also, I am passionate about improving education in our community and making sure more kids that choose to not at- tend college are successful after graduation. They deserve that follow-through.

Fiscally responsible school funding, compet- itive teacher compensation, and students’ college and career readiness. Today’s students have more challenges than ever, given the challenges that the pandemic left in our wake. We have signicant ground to make up with our students and need experi- enced, dedicated board leadership to ensure accelerated progress. We will continue to ensure that no critical race theory curriculum is present in our schools.

The biggest challenge presently facing the city is the adequate supply of water/sewer for the tremendous growth in and around the city. We are presently working with AEI to remedy [the] present situation in an ecient time span. For years we have not had adequate sales tax income to facilitate the growth of our infrastructure.

The transformation of Historic Magnolia. New subdivisions will need very little main- tenance and capital investment over the next decades. ... When they obtain full city citizenship, they will begin to demand sig- nicant city resources. If the city continues to ignore Historic Magnolia, it will degener- ate into just another blighted crossroads. We must use this time to transform Historic Magnolia into an attractive destination as well as a place where we all enjoy living.
