$280M SpaceX expansion underway Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has approved a $17.3 million grant to support Elon Musk’s SpaceX semiconductor research and development expansion in Bastrop. Two-minute impact The expansion is expected to create over 400 jobs raised issues about the project’s impact on parking, drainage and trac. Green also said she feels the current property owners, Tom Leibowitz and Jodie Smith have not been transparent. Leibowitz responded, saying the project had been in the works for more than three years and the previous owner discussed a plan with neighbors. Upon completion, the Bastrop location will become the largest printed circuit board and panel-level packaging facility in North America. She said the plan is designed for people making up to 80% of the area’s median income.
