Community updates 1 The sixth annual Women Empowering Women Luncheon was held Feb. 1 at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center and presented by CHI St. Luke’s Health, raising $325,000 for Interfaith Community Clinic. The nonprofit organization provides health services to the uninsured in Montgomery County. 2 Tall Timbers District Boy Scouts presented the 2018 Spirit of Scouting Award to the Lone Star College System on Feb. 7 for the college’s efforts in making facilities and equipment available at the Lone Star College-Montgomery campus to the Tall Timbers District for more than 15 years. This award honors service professionals who have maintained exceptional service ratings and reviews on Angie’s List in 2018. 4 Student artwork chosen as part of the The Woodlands Arts Council’s 2019 Student Art Scholarship Competition will be exhibited at Market Street in mid-March. A panel of professors and professional artists from the local and Greater Houston area will serve as jurors for the annual competition.
