Construction updates Projects underway in The Woodlands area include the final stages of Market Street renovation as well as progress on several new residential developments. 1 Land off Cathedral Lakes Parkway is under construction off I-45 for a 150-acre, mixed-use development. The project will feature housing, medical offices, a hotel and a Lexus dealership, according to officials with Grace Woodlands Church, which owns the land. As of late February, the last two public roads in the development were about 60 days from completion, officials said. 2 Renovations at Market Street began in June 2018 and will be completed in March, according to Market Street General Manager Jenny Taylor. Projects still under construction include lighting upgrades, installation of an interactive fountain and a wood deck as well and landscaping. 3 Structural work is underway on Two Lakes Edge, a 386-unit, multifamily complex located in Hughes Landing near Lake Woodlands Drive. Officials with The Howard Hughes Corp. said the complex is scheduled to be complete in spring 2020. 4 Groundbreaking took place Jan. 30 for Creekside Park West, a new 12-acre retail center that will be anchored by a Moviehouse & Eatery, a dine-in movie theater. The theater is slated to open in late 2019. The center, located at the southwest corner of Kuykendahl Road and Creekside Forest Drive, will also feature retailers and restaurants that have not yet been announced, according to officials with The Howard Hughes Corp. 5 A shopping center on Kuykendahl Road is under construction, including an I Love Kickboxing location and an Enterprise car rental. A separate building on the site is also under construction for a Huddle House restaurant, according All Points Public Relations. 6 Construction on Centro, a mixed-use development in Shenandoah east of I-45, began in November 2018, according to developers Palmetto and Palmetto MDR. The 13-acre, two-phase project will include 96 single- family homes and 18 detached live-work units as well as commercial space. Work on the site was underway in February. 2978
