Township seeks partners for median project The Woodlands Township board of directors on April 17 discussed ways to partner with county and private entities to reforest ‹ve medians. What’s happening? Following concerns regarding a lack of tree coverage, township Chief Operating O•cer Chris Nunes presented a collection of ‹ve county-owned medians to be part of a pilot program to partner with community and county entities to fund reforestation eorts. The identi‹ed areas, and the estimated costs to reforest them, include: • Gosling Road at Flintridge Drive: $319,467 • Woodlands Parkway between east and west Panther Creek: $104,733 • Research Forest Drive at Technology Boulevard: $23,220 • Six Pines Drive between Lake Robbins Drive and

Safe Haven Baby Box opens in township O•cials unveiled the ‹rst Safe Haven Baby Box in the Houston region on April 28 at The Woodlands Fire Station No. 6, 1100 Windsor Lakes Blvd., providing an anonymous system for parents to safely turn over newborn babies without legal consequences. Two-minute impact The idea to bring the baby box to The Woodlands area was proposed in 2024 by board member Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. How it works Fire Chief Palmer Buck said when the box is opened from the outside a sensor will trigger a silent alarm to ‹rst responders, who will respond within two minutes.
