Dustin Rauch’s rst experience as a caregiver came from helping his mother who had ALS, a role that led him to pursue a 12-year career in physical therapy. His wife, Rebecca Rauch, also cared for her grandfather overnight while she was working as a physical therapist. The pair decided to harness their experience and transition into the caregiving eld full time three years ago, opening their rst Caring Senior Service location in Waco in 2022. “I’ve switched from being [a] physical therapist back into caregiving because that’s what I feel like is our role—to give back to the community—since we’ve experienced it, and to o er something better,” Dustin Rauch said.
What they o er The couple launched their second location in Georgetown earlier this year after getting more and more requests for caregiving south of Waco. Caring Senior Service is a nonmedical service that o ers companion care, dementia care and personal care, including helping with tasks such as getting dressed, grooming and mobility. Additionally, the business has a virtual care option that uses auditory technology to monitor for falls. The business employs about 40 caregivers. Each client is assigned a singular caregiver to make them more comfortable and provide consistency. “Our goal is keeping [clients] safe and ... at home as long as possible,” Dustin Rauch said.
