City to receive $750K grant for Old Celina Park Celina City Council members approved an agree- ment to accept a $750,000 federal grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to construct a new playground at Old Celina Park during a Dec. 12 meeting. The playground is one piece of an improvement project for the more than 63-acre park, according to meeting documents. The gist City staff members submitted a grant applica- tion to the wildlife department’s Local Park Grant Program in September 2021, according to meeting documents. Council tables vote on multifamily standards Prosper Town Council members chose to indefinitely table a vote to amend the town’s multifamily standards ordinance Jan. 9. Discussions regarding the amendments had been tabled at council’s Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 meetings. Some context The amendments were intended to modify the regulations and standards for multifamily development projects to align with the town’s comprehensive plans’ guid- ing principle to maintain the community’s small-town feel, according to a statement included in the meeting documents. What happens next? Council could choose to bring the amend- ments back for discussion at a later date.
