Town replica becomes movie set, event venue West Lake Hills native Adam Woolley always wanted to be in the lm industry. He even remem- bers collecting his rst movie props when he was just 9 years old. Now, in the heart of Bee Cave, Woolley owns one of the largest lm prop houses in the country that sits on Star Hill Ranch—a 31-acre historic town replication and event venue. The overview Visiting Star Hill Ranch can feel like stepping into the distant past of horse-drawn wagons, dirt roads and saloons, Woolley said. However, tours are reserved for those looking to book the venue. He created the town by relocating and restoring old buildings from throughout Central Texas. The property has chapels, school houses, a barn, old homes from downtown Austin and even Bee Cave’s rst post o ce.
