League City to start asphalt work on various roads in October
Several roads in the northeastern part of League City will see asphalt work beginning in October. What you need to know As part of the city’s annual reinvestment program, League City officials budgeted money for asphalt street reconstruction, Sarah Osborne, director of communications and community engagement, said in a Sept. 10 email. Osborne said construction beginning in October includes work on: • Lakeside Drive from West Drive to Mockingbird Lane • West Drive • Valmar Street • Oak Road • Mockingbird Lane • Bluebonnet Street The work will be completed in February and
could cause traffic interruptions, Osborne said. The cost From FY 2023-24 to FY 2027-28, League City will invest a total of $14 million in the asphalt project, according to city documents. The bulk of that money is for construction, while roughly $1 million is for planning and design. This total adds to an already $16.4 million that had been previously apportioned. All of the new $14 million will come from a reinvestment fund, according to city documents. The project will see work between now and fiscal year 2027-28, according to city documents. What else? The other packages will be designed and worked on in the coming years, with construction for another package slated for FY 2027-28, according to city documents.
