Lone Star College raises tuition for 2024 25 Lone Star College System trustees approved increased tuition rates for the 2024-25 school year during the board’s March 7 meeting, bumping in-district tuition by $8 per credit hour. The breakdown Trustees unanimously approved the 2024-25 credit tuition fee schedule as part of the meeting’s consent agenda. According to March 7 meeting documents, changes to tuition include an $8 increase per credit hour for in-district tuition and a $18 increase per credit hour for out-of-district tuition. Increases were also implemented for international and dual-credit tuition. These rates will go into e“ect in April when registration for the upcoming fall semester opens, according to meeting documents. The rates will impact all LSC campuses and degrees o“ered, according to a March 13 email from media relations

The Conroe ISD board of trustees approved a handful of construction managers for several dis- trict renovation projects during a March 19 meeting. Two-minute impact Trustees approved construction companies for ”ve renovation projects, including one voters approved as part of the $1.9 billion 2023 bond. The Oak Ridge High School Ninth-Grade Campus will receive a major renovation, which includes addressing critical infrastructure, such as chillers, boilers, freezers, air handlers, generators and electrical service equipment, as well as the replacement of interior šoors and walls. The district selected Satter”eld and Pontikis Construction as the construction company in charge of the ninth-grade campus renovation project. The renovation will cost $23.49 million, according to district information.

Construction Work on two other projects, an elementary school feeder for The Woodlands High School and one for the Caney Creek and Oak Ridge feeders, has begun, according to information from the district.

Trustee Stacey Chase requested discus- sion on the complaint process for parents who want to weigh in on decisions that were made to remove library books and instruc- tional material. What’s changing? The board decided on several changes such as adding a reason for book removal to the district website, establishing a speci”c day each month the list is updated, and giving a 15-day period where a challenge can be submitted for a book.

The new tuition rates are expected to bring in an additional $10.1 million in revenue for LSC, according to meeting documents. Trustees did not discuss the new tuition rates before voting March 7.
