Sheri candidates face May 28 runo A runo race for the March 5 election will be held May 28 between Montgomery County sheri incumbent Rand Henderson and challenger Wesley Doolittle. Henderson received just shy of the 50% of the vote needed to declare victory in the Republican primary. Henderson received 49.97% of the vote, and Doolittle received 46.06% of the vote. What they’re saying “I am fully prepared to conduct a vigorous runo election campaign and earn another four years from the voters,” Henderson said following the March 5 election. “We need a new sheri, and I look forward to continuing to make my case as to why I’m the best choice in this race,” Doolittle said.

The nine MUDs within the agency are governed by nonpartisan boards, and they are charged with activities such as setting retail and sewer rates as well as levying tax rates. The retail rate passed on to customers varies according to MUD. For example, the monthly base charge for residential customers among The Woodlands Water MUDs ranges from $5 to $9.50. According to the Texas Commission on Envi- ronmental Quality website, most municipal utility district powers also have the power to incur debt, enter into contracts and exercise eminent domain.
