2 Plano departments name new directors Victoria Huynh and Curtis Howard have been named the directors of Plano’s human resources and neighborhood services departments. The background Huynh has spent 27 years working for the city in a number of legal roles. Howard previously worked with the Plano Police Department as the administrative services manager and as a senior legal advisor.

Davis Library to host city meetings during renovations

Plano council funds trac count study City-hired consultants are expected to conduct a citywide trac study in Plano that will analyze trac counts and turning counts at various areas throughout the city. Plano City Council approved nearly $495,000 with Lee Engineering—a trac engineering and transportation planning rm—to pay for the study during its

Renovations to the Sen. Florence Shapiro Council Chamber will result in some city meetings being held at the Davis Library for the next several months. Select city meetings—including those for Plano City Council and the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission—will be hosted at the Davis Library, which is located at 7501-B Independence Parkway, starting in April. The meetings will move because of planned renovations to the Sen. Florence Shapiro Council Chamber within the Plano Municipal Center. The renovations will cost a little over $6 million and will be funded through the 2021 bond and Public Education Government funds. City presents Silver Line station area plans After nearly a year of public engagement and data collection, Plano ocials have developed a set of draft plans for areas around two future stations along the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line. Two-minute impact The draft plans—included in city

documents—outline desirable land uses for areas surrounding the future 12th Street Station and Shiloh Road Station along the Silver Line track. For the 12th Street Station, the community feedback centered on creating new public spaces to enhance new residential areas, having a mix of residential options and incorporating safe pedes- trian-friendly areas, per city documents. The vision for the Shiloh Road Station high- lighted improvements to aid movement to and from the station, transit-oriented developments that tie into the station, and added public spaces.

The study will collect data over seven-day and 24-hour intervals along 357 roadway segments within Plano. Counts will be analyzed from 293 intersections in the city. The study is expected to help provide reliable and accurate trac counts within Plano, per city documents.
