CALWest, located at 6501 Legacy Drive, used to serve as the headquarters for retailer JCPenney. The three-story Class A oce building was sold to Capital Commercial Investments in 2021 and is now a multitenant building with spaces available to rent, according to its website. According to city building permits, construction plans include new retaining walls around the pond, modications of storm sewer lines, and new hiking and biking trails around the property.

The permits for these construction projects were initially released in late 2019, but on-site construction shut down, forcing operations to stop before the projects were nished. A new permit was released last October, allowing construction to continue at CALWest.
