Montgomery County Food Bank The food bank held its Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala on Feb. 17 presented by Woodforest National Bank. The event raises funds for its mission to serve food insecure children, families and seniors. The Rotary Club of The Woodlands The Rotary Club of The Woodlands held the White Tie and Tiara Ball, its annual An Evening of Elegance celebration, on Feb. 10. The Rotary Club of The Woodlands celebrates its 50th anniversary this July. The event, presented by TDECU, also honored recently retired Lone Star College System Chancellor Stephen Head and Linda Head. Montgomery County Heart Ball Celebrating its 100th year in 2024, the American Heart Association raised $900,000 at its Feb. 24 Montgomery County Heart Ball. The event took place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. The theme this year, “From the Tiniest of Hearts to The Most Mature,” provided a framework for storytelling throughout the evening focusing on survivors and their family members’ stories. 1 Tony (right) and Amy Torres (second from right), chairs for the Montgomery County Heart Ball, were joined by family members. 2 AHA board member Dr. Ketrese White, senior vice president at Texas Children’s Hospital, right, and Jon White, attended the event.
