Work on The Smash Yard, a 10-court, 30,000-square-foot pickleball facility, is underway in northwest McKinney. Pickleball enthusiasts and project representatives Santosh Sahoo and Anish Katyal said opening is projected for summer or fall 2026. Guests at the facility will have both membership and open play options, as well as access to tournaments and coaching. The high residential growth in the area north of US 380 also drove the team to select the site “at the heart of McKinney, Celina and Prosper,” Katyal said, noting the area’s limited court availability. “Pickleball is a sport that’s picking up across the country, not just in McKinney,” Katyal said. “It’s a craze.” Facility to bring pickleball courts

The Smash Yard will o er a variety of club-style amenities, such as a pro shop, a full-service bar, lockers, showers, private workstations and more. The facility will also include a children’s play area and a lounge area with gaming for older children, intended to serve as areas for families. Katyal said parents may struggle to nd time to play pickleball when there isn’t anything for their children to do at the facility. In addition to indoor family amenities, the project includes a site for food trucks to park near the outdoor courts. Katyal said the facility will host food trucks each weekend. “We want to get all the community together, have a nice family time ... and get a thriving pickleball community going,” Sahoo said.
The Smash Yard will feature eight indoor courts and two outdoor courts.
