TEXRail has seen the number of riders increase over the past four years, especially to the airport. In May 2025, Terminal B was the most popular stop, showing a 12.6% increase from 2024. Grape- Fest, a Grapevine wine festival, netted 5,000 rides in September, according to Trinity Metro data.

Airport. TEXRail’s best month in ridership came in December 2024 with 103,312 rides, up 25% from the previous year. The Fort Worth Parade of Lights and Christmas events were a key factor, according to Trinity Metro. “Grapevine has long been a welcoming destination for visitors from the west with TEXRail,” said Paul W. McCallum, director of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Now, with the Silver Line, we’re excited to better connect with communities from the east, making it easier for visitors to indulge in culinary offerings, great shopping and entertainment.”

Nearly two decades after its initial conception, the 26-mile, $2 billion Silver Line commuter rail from transportation agency Dallas Area Rapid Transit is now open. As of Oct. 25, riders can hop on the train in Plano and travel to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in less than an hour. The Silver Line has two stations in Plano and eight additional stations that touch Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell and Grapevine. Trips to Grapevine, the Christmas Capital of Texas, were a big boost for Trinity Metro’s TEXRail last year. TEXRail is a 27-mile track from the Fort Worth T&P Station to DFW
