Alcohol-infused ice cream Tipsy Cow ships nationwide
Tipsy Cow Owner Mike Chase said he never thought alcohol and ice cream could mix. “Once I gured that all out, I thought it would be a huge hit in New Braunfels,” Chase said. A closer look Tipsy Cow is a family-owned ice cream shop that opened its doors in May 2018. They specialize in homemade, alcohol-infused ice cream avors, such southern pecan pie and vanilla bourbon. Chase noted they add a small amount of alcohol as they make it so that custom- ers will not get “drunk” eating their ice cream. “There’s a ne line and a ne balance of how much [alcohol] you can put in to make sure you can still scoop it,” Chase said.
What’s special about it? Chase’s son, Grant, posted a TikTok video of him and his dad making their Bailey’s salted caramel ice cream, which went viral in February 2022. Grant said he didn’t expect the video to go viral. “February was the busiest month we’d ever had, and usually it was July,” Chase said. Followers soon begged the shop to ship their ice cream across the county and they obliged. One more thing A second Tipsy Cow will open at 1705 S. Walnut Ave., New Braunfels, in the spring, and Chase hopes to expand the menu with ice cream sand- wiches, merchandise and more seating.
Tipsy Cow is owned by Mike Chase and his son Grant.
