No Plano ISD campuses in west Plano will join the four set to close following the 2024-25 school year. The district’s board of trustees approved the closure of Davis Elementary, Forman Elementary, Armstrong Middle and Carpenter Middle in June, but a PISD committee requested additional work be done before making any suggestions in the west cluster. Johnny Hill, deputy superintendent for business and employee services for PISD, said a demographic report conducted by the district reflects continued decline in student enrollment throughout the district. However, the west cluster has the highest current and projected enrollment. Rather than closing schools, Hill said the district should consider adjusting programs to maximize transportation, facility space and best meet the needs of PISD students and families.
