The “Little Bit of Country” room is painted blue and has a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
A closer look Leslie’s has three di erent rooms, each featuring a king-sized bed and private bathroom. Nightly rates range from $60-$75. Freeman said she enjoys going the extra mile, such as picking up an anniversary card for a spouse running late. “If they need something, that’s part of my job,” Freeman said. Freeman opened the bed and breakfast in 2022 to keep herself busy after retiring, she said. Her love for bed and breakfasts comes from years of spending time at ones across Texas. Now, she enjoys recreating those experiences for her own guests.
The road to this small-town stay is rustic. Cows, horses and hay bales greet drivers before they turn onto a gravel path with a yellow house at the end. Abby, the resident dog, may welcome visitors rst, followed shortly by the bed and breakfast’s owner and hostess Leslie Freeman. A snack, iced tea and lemonade are prepared upon arrival—or a pot of hot co ee if the weather’s cooler. “That’s the key to a [bed and breakfast]—to make everyone at home,” she said.
